Volunteer Opportunities
As a community-owned grocery, we have made a conscious choice to involve our community in a great many ways, including encouraging volunteerism. At People's we depend on people like yourself to help make the organization stronger through volunteering for various duties both in the store and at special events.
The PFC is incredibly grateful to all of you who lend a hand to keep our little store running.
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Storefront Opportunities:
To volunteer in the store you must be an owner and complete a volunteer orientation.
- At People's we always need help with dishwashing, closing duties, stocking, bagging bulk items, and cleaning.
- Inventories are a great way to get to know the staffers and products at PFC! Contact Erik Moisio if you would like to count up and rock out with us on March 31 from 6:30-10:30pm (or any part of that).
Board of Director Opportunities:
Board members are some of our most committed volunteers. They have taken on oversight and governance of the organization as their volunteer job. If you are interested in attending board meetings or finding out more information, please contact Aliisa Lahti.
Special Opportunities:
Call the store at 342-5686 or email Erik Moisio if you are interested in helping out with one or more of these opportunities.
- Time keeper
We need a time keeper for our board meetings. We would like to have a owner-at-large commit to coming to coming to our monthly meetings to keep the time. Meetings are the fourth Tuesday of every month.
- Art Hop Artist
Would you like to be considered as an artist to be hosted by the PFC for Art Hop? Artists do not have to be PFC owners. Please contact Jeff Evergreen if you want information or have an interest.
How do I become a volunteer at People's?
There are three easy steps to becoming a volunteer with us:
- Pick up or download a volunteer application.
- Sign up for a volunteer orientation. Call the store at 342-5686 or email Erik Moisio to find out dates or to sign up.
- Attend your orientation. Bring your application to the store. Orientations take approximately 30 - 60 minutes, depending on the number of people. You will receive a tour of the store and an explanation of the system. You will also be able to sign up for tasks and times right there and then!
